Hi Carlos, et al.
Unfortunately I will miss tomorrow's meeting..
Last Saturday SURA hosted the face to face meeting of the W3C Semantic
Sensor Network working group. - Folks at the meeting sort of agree to have
an ontology that should align with SensorML and O&M. These will be ready in
the next 2 weeks.
- Also we talk about exploring Web Protege as a collaborative environment
for ontology editing. Maybe is worthwhile to check this again and talk to
Standford folks if needed to get a an account etc..
- I think the device ontology should be used / tested to avoid over
engineering it.
-- We need at least 2 groups providing data ( or metadata) of devices in RDF
-- provide a query mechanism to use the ontology we have created to get
device information from these 2 groups
-- each group can do:
---- data base to RDF( based on the device ontology work) or
---- data base to RDF ( based on their own semantics ) and provide mapping
RDF to RDF ( device ontology)
-- publish the results/experiences/challenges in a journal and present at
conference
- define mechanism to keep it up to date receive and process comments etc.
-- define action tracker: maybe like a software artifact with issues
tracker
-- nominate one guardian
-- set up procedure ( e.g. time for public comments on proposed changes)
hope this helps...
